shapes + sizes

These are just basic guidelines and definitely not fail-proof.

Still not finding what you need? I’m more than happy to help troubleshoot the fit of your veils. Feel free to email us at jonathan.marijean@gmail.com, or message us on the Glory & Grace facebook page. You can send photos of you wearing a veil you’re struggling with, along with the measurements, and we’ll work back and forth on finding a fit that works for you.

Round

This shape is great for almost everyone, but works especially well for people with lots of hair, or who don't want their whole bun covered.  Also works best for ladies who utilize the "messy bun" hair style. Available in all sizes.

Oval.jpg

This shape is best for people with narrow heads and/or small hair buns, and is 1” narrower than the length. I have found it to be my most popular shape in larger sizes ranging from 8-1/2" - 12". If you have almost no bun to speak of, but don’t want the extra folds of fabric, I would recommend adding a slight gathering thread along the bottom.

Heart.jpg

heart

This veil shape slightly resembles a heart and is the same width as length. It is ideal for hanging veils or ladies with a narrow base of the head and lots of hair. Adding a gathering thread on this shape can help with getting full coverage but no extra fabric.

What size veil should I pick?

  • For veils worn with hair worn down
Sizes 3” - 6.5” round work best, with a narrow trim for up to 5”, and a wider trim for 5”-6.5” to help it shape to your head.

  • For more coverage but still some hair visible at the bottom
    I would recommend a round veil in sizes 6.5” - 8”.

  • For a veil that covers your entire bun and lower hairline
I suggest a size 9” or larger in the shape you prefer. If you have lots of hair but don’t want any extra fabric (or a hanging veil), I would recommend trying a 10” or 10.5”.

Should i add a gathering thread to my order?

A gentle gathering thread can be added to the bottom of your veil in order to help cup it against your head. It does not work for hanging veils, but works best for fitted and smaller veils. In my experience, it’s usually used in sizes 7.5” - 10”.
